Pets, Presents, and Perversion
First… Hey, look, Erica! An eye-catching title… I took your recent blog post to heart. And now, on with the countdown.
Funny I should use the word “countdown” there, as I find myself in the final countdown to Christmas and I haven’t bought gifts yet. Oh, sure, I picked up something for Sophia (still not shipped, more than 6 weeks later), and I have something to send to a friend in Utah (also not shipped more than 6 weeks since I bought it). And, of course, I have a little something for my niece Cierra. But, really, I’ve done so little. To make matters worse, I have a very small budget to work with because I spent about half of this month’s discretionary spending money on myself (hello air compressor/nailer kit and a few Neopets Plushies… including one Jumbo Plush that I do not regret buying on eBay).
But now I’m starting to feel guilty for not having anything to give, and I’m starting to feel increasingly desperate to find something affordable for the people who really matter to me. So I went to a deals website that I’m a big fan of, hoping something there would be too good to pass up and would also make a suitable gift for someone I know. That’s where I found out about two free 8×10 prints from Walgreens (separate orders, in-store pickup, use codes FREEGIFT and FREEGIFT2), and I’ll pick up some inexpensive frames… my sister is done.
But while I was at Walgreens’ website sorting out my portrait order, I happened across a feature where you can turn your favorite photo into an 8×10 magazine cover. I clicked through the various categories… entertainment, automotive, sports, pets…
Pets? *perk* Ooh! My brother’s girlfriend loves animals and has bunches of pets! This is promising. But I needed to see more. You all remember Spike, don’t you? He’s the only one of her pets that I have a ready-for-framing photo of, so I uploaded it to see how the magazine cover would look.
And that’s when I went a little mad. Yes, they have have two different covers for “Reptiles”. No, I did not choose either of them. Instead, this is what I chose:

I think she’ll like it. What do you think? (Erica, feel free to recycle your “here, kitty, kitty” comment from my WW post. *wink*)

A great Pet blog you have here. Now frankly I am not much into pets, I am trying to train my Little Pomerian House Breaking… and Not really sure how to train her. She looks cute but she going down on the bed is worse.!
