Smarmoofus Spot was (is?) sick…
My site was infected with a virus. I believe I have it cleaned up, but maybe not… after everything else that could go wrong, Erica told me tonight that my site is down, and she is getting an error message when she tries to view it. She told me this while I was looking at my site. I can’t find the problem, and my blog is working for me in both FF and IE. If you can see this post (and don’t get any bells, alarms, or whistles from your antivirus program), please comment to reassure me. Also, let me know what browser and OS you’re using. Blah.
The warning she received was something to the effect of:
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/s/m/a/smarmoofus/html/wp-config.php:2) in /home/content/s/m/a/smarmoofus/html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 868

It’s working now. :) I’m using FF 3.5.7, but like I said, that error has nothing to do with browser.

You were right, Erica. It seems that in the middle of everything that I did, trying to preserve my config file failed… I had an error it in somewhere that I couldn’t solve. Ultimately, I composed a new one from scratch and overwrote. Then suddenly everything started working perfectly again. That was at 9:30 this morning. I was at this all night… I felt like I was going in circles at one point: check this, click here, open that, repeat.

It’s okay. I did feel kind of stupid when I was so easily able to repair the damage, though. After all the hours I spent trying to fix the wrong thing(s), I laugh-cried at how easy it was to fix in the end.
