Heads or Tails Tuesday: (Anything that Rhymes With) “Tip”
This week’s Heads is “Tip,” and Tails is “Anything that rhymes with ‘Tip’.” Since I have no tips to offer you, an essay on tipping etiquette would be boring, and I’ve never ever tipped a cow, I’m going to talk about something that rhymes with tip. Namely, clip. Also, snip. Either one will do. They both mean to cut. And I did a lot of clipping (or snipping, if you prefer) when I made this:

A friend of mine is due to have a baby at the end of May and I am attending her baby shower on Saturday. So I made her a flannel rag quilt, with the baby’s initials embroidered on one of the panels. (My friend doesn’t know I have a blog, so I’m allowed to post a picture of her gift before she receives it.) To make a rag quilt, you leave the seam allowances exposed, and then snip/clip them to encourage them to fray and become ruffly. If you don’t have a proper pair of scissors, this is an arduous task. I think I don’t have a proper pair of scissors.

That is a beautiful quilt, and I know about the clipping and snipping when you quilt. Have a number to make myself.

How nice of you to do something so personal. I do not like sewing and tend to glue or staple but quilting is such a lovely artform. Thanks for popping over and leaving a comment on my post

Phew! I was worried when Julia found her way here! But I figured you weren’t likely to get here before Saturday. That was close! I’m glad you like it. You’re very welcome. And I hope I’m still in the area when the baby comes. It would be very cool to get to meet him!
