55 Flash Fiction: Defining Friends, part 3

Thursday, September 11th, 2008 @ 8:00 pm | In my life..., In writing...

This is the third installment of my snazzy and spiffy serial, and my fortieth 55 ever.  It’s really starting to come together, isn’t it?

She called him a half-dozen times in the guise of her telemarketing job that summer.  Each conversation was lengthy, animated.  She stopped worrying about quotas or commissions, just enjoyed their chats.  Her temporary job ended, the summer ended, her childhood ended.  The night before moving to college, she called him again…
“Can I come over?”

I really think I know who this is. I’d leave a hint to my guess but the sassy comment I have in mind isn’t very subtle. ;-)

I don’t know who it is (I could guess though… I think), but I’m pretty sure I know who it isn’t.
Then again you’re always so full of surprises Smoofus… that’s what I love about ya.

I’m behind the curve tonight, but I’m finally up (oh stop).
The people have spoken, and my heroine has finally listened.

Oh, and Snowelf has promised me that Delia’s back this week!

    Hi Smoofy…
I have to admit that yours do pretty much stand alone so far. I have so many to read that I don’t have time to scroll through 30 or so chapters to follow a story line…
Thanks for playing, and have a Great Week-End.
