I love the outside-in progression…especially since I’ve NEVER seen tumbleweed in real life. I’m definitely missing something, as your treatment has an amazing texture to it!

    Mine’s up, too: http://tinyurl.com/5fnscr

  2. Mojo Says:

YOU LET A TUMBLEWEED RIDE IN MINI ZOOM???
And in the front seat no less!
Did you two have a falling out or something? Please say it isn’t so!

  3. Mommwizdom Says:

You took tumbleweed?! Ha! Isn’t that federal property?! Lol.

The first time I “saw” tumbleweed I stopped the car and got out to take pictures. I’d heard of it but had never actually seen it. Isn’t that funny?! Happy WW!

  4. Dianne Says:

What a funny progression. I was surprised by the next shot with the tumbleweed IN the car. LOL! As if this poor little tumbleweed was just looking for someone to take it in. Very fun and unexpected! :D

  5. Smarmoofus Says:

Never fear, Mojo… these shots were taken a little over 3 years ago, in July of 2005, and MiniZoom joined my small traveling family (consisting of me, MiniZoom, and TomTom) in December of 2006–a year and a half later. And Tumbleweed was in the backseat. He was that big.

  6. Dawn @ My Home Sweet Home Says:

The tumbleweed tumbled right on into the car! :-)

  7. Mojo Says:

I’m so relieved! I just don’t think my heart could take seeing you and MZ fighting.

And now that I look at it, what I thought was a dashboard was the rear window ledge… Silly me.

So did Tumble run for it when he saw your sister pinching the heads off palm trees?

  8. Maggie's Mind Says:

Haha, that is just very awesome. Loved this muchly.

  9. Smarmoofus Says:

Funny you should mention that, Mojo… this is the road that goes down to the river recreation area where the palm trees photo was taken.

So that’s what tumbleweeds actually look like. I’ve never seen one, as I don’t they exist in my country. :) Happy WW!

Love the photos. It reminds me of my first cross-country drive. When I saw tumbleweeds in Wyoming I couldn’t believe they were real. Before that, I’d only ever seen them in Roadrunner cartoons.

My dogs leave balls of tumbleweed all over the house no matter how many times I Hoover. I burst into the tune of ‘The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly when this post came up!!!!

  25. Julie Says:

This reminds me of the first time Jay visited me in the tri-cities. He HAD to have a picture of the first tumbleweed he saw. I guess we take them for granted (hah)? Still can’t believe you let the thing in your car. Those things carry sooo many lil creatures… and if you got it from around here it’s probably radioactive. :-D

    great shot!

I used to love big wind storms with the tumbleweeds flowing across the roads, so many you could miss hitting them. They have their own kind of beauty!
