Wordless Wednesday: “It’s un-dead… un-deeeead!”

“Creating ZombieZoom” – Photo Date: September 20, 2008, at ~4:30am
Breaking the rules a little: MiniZoom and I met Igor* and the Mad Scientist* on Friday, and we had a great time. Sadly, though, all the excitement proved too much for poor MiniZoom and she expired. It was only a drained battery, and it was completely my fault (three hours of the ignition turned to “Accessories” for no good reason — the stereo was muted!). But the Mad Scientist deftly pulled jumper cables from Igor’s trunk, and soon we had ZombieZoom, the undead MiniZoom.
There’s a bit more to this story, but that’s all you’re going to get. Being Wordless Wednesday, and all, it’s more than you deserve!

This would make for an interesting 55 series. Oh I noticed you are at one of my favorite places to shop for books as well!!!!!
September 23rd, 2008 at 5:23 pm
Funny thing, that. That one night could be an entire 55 series. Oh, also, I didn’t actually set foot inside Barnes & Noble this weekend. This one has a patio set up with tables (anchored to the concrete uncomfortably close to the storefront, I discovered), and we met out there. Besides, I’ve forbidden myself to buy any more books ’til I work my way through at least half of the double-stack of books in my bedroom.

Glad you added some words; good clarification. So I’m not the only one who photographs car repairs, eh? :D
September 23rd, 2008 at 6:01 pm
Oh, you do, too? *relief* I thought I was the only one!
September 23rd, 2008 at 6:53 pm
They only have one book at that Barnes & Noble. :P

I’ve left my lights on so often in the past I now carry a portable battery to jump-start my car. Saves embarrassment and the need for another vehicle.
BTW, have you noticed how many early WW posters are putting stonking great watermarks right across the middle of their pics? It’s a relief to see a nice discrete one. Thank you!

Erica: And I think my family owns a copy of it somewhere. Maybe. On the other hand, I know exactly where my pocket copy of the U.S. Constitution is. That’s the only book that I really care about.
Bodhi: This is the first time I’ve ever done anything like this. Well, no… the night I graduated from university, I locked my keys inside my car. But I had help (someone else shut my door, not realizing I’d set my keys down in my seat while I was removing my cap and gown). And that was back when I still used my father’s trick of hiding a spare key on the outside of my car, so all it took was a screwdriver to access the spare, and I was right back inside.

I love your names – Glad you had a good time. You’re a funny damsel in distress… Happy WW!

*Feels privledged because he knows the story behind the picture*
Nice pic Smarmoofus! Here is mine.

(*Mr. O’s not the only one…*)
Nice catch Smoofus. Night shots are a little tricky, but when else are you going to catch a shot of the undead?
(That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.)
Glad to hear that MZ’s back on her wheels. I know how you worry.

I was intrigued by this title and had to see what it was all about! Glad you got the battery going.
I got stuck once in high school when the whole town was doing a scavenger hunt through a local radio station. I went looking for the prize before school, forgot to turn off my lights, and had a dead battery when I needed to leave. You don’t forget that sort of thing.

I think we need the details. Yes, I am sure that we need the details to this story! You can log out and post a comment here as “anonymous” telling us the rest of the story. No one will even know that it is you. Honest.
As to your comments over at my place:
Hmm, the font in the comment box IS tiny. Unfortunately, not something I have any control over – at least, I don’t think so. Anyhow – everyone is behind me. It’s permitted to park your car right on these causeway beaches, but most people prefer to park under a tree. It is Florida, after all, and much better to park under a tree than out in the broiling sun. So all the peeps are in the part of the beach that’s behind me.
May your Wednesday be merry and bright!

Tink: *giggle* Nope. No further details are available at this time. Not even “anonymous” ones. Stay tuned, though. I have a feeling this blog will become the site of many information leaks in the near future.
Forget Wednesday, I’m looking forward to Friday. (Umm… because Friday’s my birthday, that’s all. No other reason. *innocent*)

Happy WW! One of the pleasures of a new car is less scenes such as this one (sigh)…
I invite your blog readers to see Anti-Sarah Palin rally up in Alaska on my WW-post this week. Not much coverage of this event in the MSM…
peace, Villager

Villager: Alas, MiniZoom is relatively new. She’ll be two in December. It is me who is old (and turning older on Friday! *starts singing* Happy birthday to me…). And forgetful. I left her accessories on.

When our battery has died, I’m not usually thinking of photographing the moment, lol. Sadly, it’s occurred on more than one occasion.
I’m not one who minds a few words of explanation in spite of the “wordless” part; I LIKE to know the story behind the scene!
:)

I always have that low batt syndrome in my car too. LOL! Happy WW! :)
September 24th, 2008 at 12:37 am
Thank God for jumper cables!
Happy WW!
September 24th, 2008 at 12:42 am
And for people who possess jumper cables!
I really should get some, myself. Instead, I have a half a quart of oil (what was left in the bottle after an oil change) and a tire gauge. Those are not very helpful when the problem is a dead battery.
September 24th, 2008 at 6:20 am
Hate when that happens…
My WW

Bodhi, I hate the huge watermarks. Put something nice and small.
This reminds me, I need a new pair of cables. Happy WW!

Must have been a long while in the book store.

ZombieZoom, I love it!

I have this habit of getting a totally dead battery in my rusty van. I have had three new ones in the last year. (Free after the first – thanks Sam’s Club). No telling why it happens. Your dead battery sounds like lots more fun!

Jean: I am certainly not complaining about it. *grins*
Edit: Ahh! You are my Jean! I should’ve checked SiteMeter first! You can join the “I know the whole story” club. The other three members are Over There… *points*
