Half-Nekkid Thursday: Only Photo
Sorry I missed last week. Thanksgiving, and all. I didn’t expect much, but my family went all out this year.
Anyway, for my second Half-Nekkid Thursday submission, I would like to share with you the only photo I have of my ex and I together (from an eighteen-months-long relationship). I know other photos of us were taken on other peoples’ cameras, but since the breakup I’ve been kind of cut off from those other people. And, besides, they’re probably not pictures of me that I’d want to share, anyway. I’ll work on real HNT type pics for future weeks.
I choose to show this today because yesterday, after three months of trying to work through the issues behind the breakup, I finally gave up and told him goodbye. Maybe someday he will realize the error he made in letting me go and learn to trust his emotions. Until then, I’ve lost the best friend I ever had.
I took this in October 2006 at a commercial apple orchard and cider mill. Going for cider and donuts is an annual event that he really looks forward to, and last year we did it together. I don’t know if he went this year.

Very sad about the breakup, but still an interesting shot of the elongated shadow. Sort of bitter sweet. Happy HNT. (I found your shots of Mr Potato-head and Barbie, BTW – hilarious! Thanks for letting me know about them – nice to see what the spud is up to when he’s not torturing me)

I have three daughters, all of whom went through breakups at one time or another, so I know how hard it must be for you at the moment. All I can say, and I know you won’t believe it just now, is that things do get better and new relationships can turn out to be better than the old. Happy HNT.

Break ups do hurt like hell. Ive just come out of a 6 1/2 year one and only just beginning to feel ‘normal’ after seriously nearly losing it. It does get better but *hugs* in the meantime. And time does heal. Its just a bugger we have to wade through it to get to the other side! HHNT (and gorgeous pic)

Nice picture. Sorry it hurts to look at but this too shall pass.
The universe does stuff to us to make us grow. Sometimes it hurts but in the end it all works out. Chin up and HHNT!

Just had a recent breakup myself….Liked the shadows though..adds something sad, I think, to the photo.

It sucks that some people don’t realize they have a good thing when the have it. But as they say, it’s always darkest before the dawn, so it may turn out to be a good thing after all.
