Crazy Eights Tag

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 @ 2:23 pm | In my life...

I was tagged by Penelope Anne at The Cafe at the End of the Universe to participate in Crazy Eights.

8 Things I’m passionate about
My family

Photography (I’m working on becoming better at this)
Graphic/Photo editing

Neopets (I’m not ashamed to admit this)

Sewing and crafting
Cooking in a well-ordered kitchen

8 Things I want to do before I die
Gain some damn weight
Travel to every continent (two down…)
Find a partner who knows as well as I do that we’re partners

Have one or two children
Find motivation to write a book
Get that book published
Realize my contribution to the world

Live

8 Things I often say
“Are you kidding me?!”
“Apple?”
“I got you something…”
“Eat past the pain!”
“Grrr!”
“I’m full.”
“It’s not that messy.”
“I miss having my own kitchen.”

8 Books I’ve recently or currently reading
(Current) Darwin’s Radio, by Greg Bear
Otherland: Sea of Silver Light, by Tad Williams (*glares at the Megamoo*)
Otherland: Mountain of Black Glass, by Tad Williams (*menacing stare*)
Otherland: River of Blue Fire, by Tad Williams (*low, gutteral growl*)
Otherland: City of Golden Shadow, by Tad Williams (I hate you!)
I don’t know the titles of the rest of the most recent books I’ve read (those last four took me ages because they’re massive… and fantasy *ugh*), so I’ll just list three more that have impacted me:
1984, by George Orwell
Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley
Lucifer’s Hammer, by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle

8 Songs I could listen to over and over
Almost any version of “Ave Maria”

Colin Hay – I Just Don’t Think I’ll Ever Get Over You

Janis Joplin – Me and Bobby McGee

8 Things that attract me to my best friends
Compassion    Sharp Wit
Intelligence     Empathy
Humor            Curiousity
Confidence     Tolerance

8 People I think should do Crazy 8s
Would you believe this is the hardest one for me? I’m so new to blogging that I don’t know 8 people well enough to tag… so I apologize in advance for all the hits these people are about to get (*wink*):

Loved reading your answers to this meme. I’m gonna have to pass on this one honey, I already did it just last Wednesday!

  4. Smarmoofus Says:

Akelamalu: Sorry ’bout that. I had some RAM issues (I’ve since restarted) and wasn’t able to search very thoroughly. I linked directly to your post from last week. Thanks!

Vixen and Hootin’ Anni: Thanks for pledging to play along! *warm fuzzy feeling* When I first saw that I was tagged, I felt a bit overwhelmed with the size of this one. But it was fun… I even found links to the books on Amazon and the songs on YouTube (some are questionable quality)… and now I kind of feel like part of the community. Someone thought of me!

  5. APj Says:

Smarmoofus! Fun game! Thanks for tagging me to play!

btw – I love your line, “Eat past the pain!” great!

    (I’m up with my post)

  6. Smarmoofus Says:

My sister created that mantra for me when I told her of my desire to gain weight. She said, “eat ’til it hurts, then eat past the pain.” And for a long time after she first said that, she would coach me during meals when she saw me slowing down. Then I started saying it to myself. It’s not really helping much for my weight-gain plans, so far. But part of my failure is due to my lack of routine. I forget to eat.

  7. Rach (Heart of Rachel) Says:

Thanks for the tag. I’ll line this one and let you know once I post mine.

Thanks for sharing these interesting things. I read that you want to gain weight. My goal is the opposite. Good luck with that book you mentioned. :)

  8. Smarmoofus Says:

Hi, and thanks Rach! *grins* And thank you for playing! I was so afraid I would be that unpopular kid from school, and the game would kind of end with me.

  9. Little Wing Says:

I played this one, but it was a little different.
